Register About the Event The 13th biennial Postal History Symposium will be held at the American Philatelic Center on November 15-16. The theme this year is “The Universal Postal Union: Connecting the World by Mail,” commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Treaty of Bern. The event will feature speakers from all over the world presenting papers on UPU postal history topics, in addition to a bourse, exhibits, special dinners, and guest speakers from the U.S. Philatelic Classics Society (USPCS). A schedule of speakers will be announced in the coming days. The APS and APRL are also excited to welcome Benjamin Combes, the UPU International Bureau’s Philately and International Reply Coupon Programme Manager, who will be traveling from Switzerland to attend as a featured speaker. Thanks to the cooperation of the International Bureau of the UPU, we will showcase the UPU’s collection of commemorative philatelic materials marking important anniversaries in the history of the UPU and the United Nations. The event is jointly sponsored by the APRL, the APS, and the Smithsonian National Postal Museum. The USPCS and the Collectors Club of Chicago are co-sponsors. For those traveling to Bellefonte to attend, you can find details about booking a hotel room here. We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Universal Postal |
